Haven Cottage

A 5-minute walk from Ambleside and a kilometer from Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, this charming guest house was originally 2 separate Victorian cottages. It specialises in home-cooked food and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site.

Haven Cottage still retains traditional old features like wooden beams and feature fireplaces. Most rooms benefit from picturesque mountain views, and all feature a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

Breakfast is provided each morning, made with Cumberland sausage or vegetarian sausage, lightly smoked dry-cured bacon, and other locally sourced ingredients.

A number of scenic walking routes start from Haven Cottage, and cycle storage is provided if guests wish to bring their bicycle. The market town of Keswick is a 20-minute drive away.

Cosy Double Room 1: This double room offers modern en-suite shower with fluffy towels and luxury toiletries, as well as flat screen TV’s with an inbuilt DVD and tea / coffee making facilities.

The Balcony Suite: The Balcony Suite is a larger luxurious double with king size bed, an internal seating area with 39″ TV and a private external balcony with magnificent views over Loughrigg Fell. The en-suite bathroom has twin sinks, an oversized shower and a roll top bath. Bathrobes, fluffy towels and luxury toiletries are all included.

The Master Suite: The Master Suite is a wonderfully spacious and luxurious bedroom with a super king size double bed, complete with roll-top bath and en-suite shower room. It also has its own separate beautifully decorated lounge featuring a 40″ TV screen & Blue-ray player, sofa and dressing table. This is our largest and quietest bedroom featuring views from the back of the property across to Todd Cragg and Loughrigg Fell.
